A Sunday to be Thankful For

This Thanksgiving (in Canada anyway) is a special one for many of us at Cornerstone because it is the first time Pastor Ed Jaentschke has delivered a Sunday message to the congregation. For many people at our church, it is the first time they are meeting the couple they have often heard about through testimonies from mission team members, or through the many photos we bring back each March.

Here is what Shaun had to say:

It’s funny and awesome what God’s timing is like. I think our lives in Canada can get so routine based it can harden and de-sensitize our hearts. Connecting with Pastor Ed w/ our small group and at this past Sunday’s service has been a perfectly timed interaction. Not sure if it’s his message, his smile, or seeing their heart for the people of Bluefields but it has helped re-soften my heart. Thanks the Lord for this perfectly timed visit from Pastor Ed and Ligia… it’s just what the doctor ordered.

I keep hearing again, and again… The Jaentschke’s visit to Toronto was perfectly timed for church related and personal reasons.

After the Sunday message, Cornerstone had hosted their annual agape meal where everyone was invited to share a time of friendship and fellowship over some excellent food. This allowed Pastor Ed and Ligia to mingle with members of our church and to strengthen the bonds that has grown over the past 5 years.

Tonight, this Thanksgiving Monday, there will be a large gathering of mission team veterans and others who have been touched by the Jaentschke’s ministry in Bluefields.

We have a lot to be thankful for this year… and for many of us who have gone to Bluefields, we are thankful for Verbo’s ministry in Bluefields and the burden the Lord has placed in our hearts for mission.
