Every morning I would wake up early and have my coffee while standing on the front porch of our house. At 6:15am in the morning, the temperature is comfortable and the streets are quiet. On March 7 - 16th, 2008, 18 people traveled to Bluefields, Nicaragua to help Verbo Ministries with their programs. The team consisted of 5 people from Three Hills, Alberta, and 13 people from the Toronto area in Ontario. The trip was put together by Samaritan’s Purse Canada and Cornerstone Christian Community Church in Markham.

The Nicaragua team has been back home for 4 days now and the reality of reverse culture shock is sinking in. For a few of the first-timers, they are feeling angry, sad, and guilty.
Friends and family don’t understand you.
You feel guilty for being so wealthy while others suffer from hunger.
Life seems to go on [...]
