Aside from two little girls we know being the poster children on the website, Verbo is now on the OrphaNetwork.
This page describes what we know as “The Feeding Program” run by Meyda and Verbo. The figures are interesting as it gives some insight into how much it costs to run the program and some [...]

This photo I took on our second day in Bluefields in March 2008. Our team joined the people at Verbo church for Sunday service.
After I did a small speech in front of the congregation, I quietly snuck out the side entrance to see the Sunday school we helped build in 2007.
I was happy to see [...]

I was warned but I really didn’t expect to see it. I was caught somewhere between revulsion, sadness, and sympathy. The sad, anguished eyes looked back at me, both of us helpless to prevent what was to come. No, I’m not referring to a child living in poverty in Nicaragua. In front of me was [...]

Every morning I would wake up early and have my coffee while standing on the front porch of our house. At 6:15am in the morning, the temperature is comfortable and the streets are quiet. On October 20th, 2007, I had the opportunity to share with the Cornerstone congregation something that is close to my heart - how missions has changed my life.
In preparing for this Sunday service, I had a lot of time to reflect on the mission and why it’s affected me the way it did. I find [...]

This is a gallery of images taken from the “dump” (aka. “The Point”) in Bluefields. For many of us on the team, the experience of distributing food and praying for the needy in that place has changed the way we experience and witness life. To this day, these images are burned into my soul… a [...]
