On the morning of their 3rd day in Canada, Ed and Ligia spent the morning with the Pastors at Cornerstone. They shared stories, needs, and visions with each other. It was the first time 3 of the 4 pastors met the Jaentschke’s, and one of them will hopefully take the step this March and go with the team to Bluefields.

Pastor Steve’s Thoughts

Pastor Ed and Ligia met with Cornerstone’s Pastoral Staff this morning. After casual conversation at The Main Connection (our church office suite), we dined on authentic Canadian fare for lunch– Swiss Chalet! We discussed ministry strategies and needs, and how to continue to build the partnership between Cornerstone and Verbo.

In what was perhaps the highlight of Ed and Ligia’s visit with Cornerstone’s pastors was our trip to the Greensborough site. This is a 5.6 acre parcel of land in Markham which Cornerstone hopes to purchase soon for the sake of eventually building our first church facility (which will be more like a community centre than a traditional church building). We stood on the property and joined hands as Pastor Ed led us in prayer for God’s provision of the land, and as Pastor Kevin (our Youth and Children’s Ministry Pastor) prayed for Ed, Ligia, and the various Verbo ministries. Ed took some rocks some the site with him as a tangible reminder to keep Cornerstone’s pursuit of land in prayer.

Pastor Kevin’s Thoughts

I (we) had a great time of fellowship with Pastor and Ed and Ligia and were honoured to hear about their ministry and to break bread with them. It was also very encouraging to their words of affirmation and prayer over our vision, particularly pertaining to the land purchase and building project. I look forward to worshipping with them on Sunday and getting to know them more!
