Redemption - transforming illness into a blessing

Since this past weekend I’ve been fighting off some sort of flu bug that has attacked my body. I’ve been somewhat successful at fending it off, but yesterday, while at work it finally caught up to me. I started to lose my voice and I had a massive headache. By 1pm, I was falling apart like some old jalopy driving on the highway so went home early to get some much needed rest.

While this illness can be interpreted as a sign from God for me to slow down and to take it easy, there is an interesting twist. Because I am sick and taking a day off work, I have managed to do a few things related to the mission trip that has been on my mind, but never found the time to do it! So in a way, this flu has given me the time I desperately needed. Maybe this is what God wanted for me? :)

Now, I know that I should relax and take it easy, but working and organizing the mission is what I love to do.

We’re leaving in just 1 month… I’m scared and excited, more so than last year. The clock is ticking…

Seems the body is like that! It’s sometimes hard to slow down so God and the body will often make you! :-) Said from a person who keeps on needing to learn that lesson!

I can’t imagine what it’s like for you! Yes, sometimes forces conspire to stop you… and often for the better.
