Managua mulling building ban to protect water supply

Due to little oversight in construction of new buildings in Managua, the city is contemplating banning new construction projects to protect the city’s water supply. According to Managua Mayor Dionisio Marenco, “In the name of free enterprise and progress, they have hurt the city’s water resources and the country.”

For the past two weeks in Managua, protesters have been blocking access to the massive garbage dump in the city called La Chureca.
