Taking time to reflect

All day today I’ve been working on a Power Point presentation about our next mission to Bluefields. During this time I was able to once again go through my photos from my March ‘07 mission to see the faces and dust off old memories of the mission past. The biggest question that was running through my head is: Will I see them again? Will they remember me?
I doubt they will recall who I am since there are so many missionary teams that go through Bluefields, but I will certainly remember them.
The organizing for the 2008 mission is taking off. The team has been formed and there will be at least 17 of us going down this year (13 from Toronto, and 4 from Calgary). Tasks have been delegated and things are really starting to come together. It’s great feeling to witness a team come together to work toward a common goal.
In my busyness of organizing the mission, I’ve realized I haven’t shared a photo from the 2007 mission in quite a while. So without further ado, here’s one of my favourite photos of my time there:
The photo is of two friends who took 3 of us from the team on a little tour of the bay and to see their modest home. While on this excursion, we stopped at the bay to relax and enjoy the setting sun. The girl on the left was quiet and sensitive (who really didn’t want to befriend us at the start), and the other is an outgoing basketball player. Completely different personalities, but they appeared to me like sisters.
When we return to Bluefields in 2008, we won’t be staying near this location, but I pray that I will be able to go back and visit the kids I met like these two.

And look what happened! The Lord let you meet Dayan again!

Thanks Grace. Indeed I was really happy when I saw Dayan again. God also allowed me a chance encounter with another girl from last year. It was a random meeting on our way to the Vineyard school.
