Weather weary Nicaragua endures more rain - 1 dead in flooding

It seems that the tropical storm season is far from over as a tropical depression has accounted for at least 1 death in Leon (Pacific coast, Nicaragua) and the evacuation of 2000.
Rain has been pounding Nicaragua and Costa Rica in recent days burying cars in mudslides and causing dangerous flood waters.
In recent years, hurricanes have been becoming more intense and storm seasons are lasting longer. The 2007 hurricane season in particular produced three devastating hurricanes in the Atlantic (Noel, Felix, and Dean) and lasted well into December.
